Fulani Herdsmen Attack Villages In Benue, Kill 2 Soldiers, Many Others

At least 4 persons, including 2 soldiers have been killed by armed herdsmen who attacked some villages in Agatu Local Government Area of Benue state on Friday. The herdsmen were said to have attacked some communities in the local government leading to the death of 4 persons, including 2 of the soldiers stationed at the council area on peacekeeping.


Some of the villages attacked include: Abugbe, Okokolo, Ugboju, Odugbeho and Olegobidu. 

Some residents told our correspondent that the attack had started for a few days until it became worse when the armed herdsmen moved to Okokolo and attacked the people.

Confirming the attacks on Agatu communities, the lawmaker representing the Agatu state constituency in the state House of Assembly, Godwin Edo said 2 villagers were killed.

Edo said: "Yes, the attack was from herdsmen, It happened yesterday (Thursday)."
